Disaster teams on high alert following level 8 weather warning
EThekwini Municipality’s Disaster Management and Emergency teams remain on high alert following yesterday’s announcement of level 8 weather warning from the South African Weather Service (SAWS).
According to the weather service, heavy rains and thunderstorm are expected starting from today, 06 January 2025 until Wednesday, 08 January 2025. The inclement weather conditions are expected to cause localised flooding and overflow of low-water bridges.

Motorists are urged to heed the severe weather warning and should be extra cautious when driving on wet roads. For emergencies, contact the City’s Disaster Management Centre on 031 361 0000.
